Great music and pleasant memories at the Floyd Radio Show

The Wildmans.

Saturday night provided a double dose of personal pleasure.

I’ve had the honor of filming the Floyd Radio Show at the Floyd Radio Show since its first Saturday night event eight years ago.  Last Saturday night provided a chance to once again film The Wildmans, the Floyd family band that I first photographed and filmed as very young kids several years ago playing on the streets on a Friday night.

Eli and Aila were the children and, while young, they are not kids anymore and their appearance with momma Deb on base brought many pleasant memories.

Saturday’s radio show also featured Southern Gothic singer Amythyst Kiah ouf of Johnston City, TN, who mixes the music of Mahalia Jackson, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline and others in a unique style and Claybank, a North Carolina group that features 17-year-old mandolin player Zack Arnold, 19-year-old guitarist Jacob Greer along with Jacob Greer, a 25-year-old banjo picker out of Bedford and veteran Gary Trivette on bass.

A good night of fantastic music and great memories.
