
Friday night’s football game, moved last month because of a drenched field from Hurricane Florence, is moving this week because of soaked turn from Thursday’s heavy rains and flooding associated with Hurricane Michael.
Homecoming, postponed from last month to this Friday night, moves again, now scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 at a home game against Allegheny County, which is also senior night.
The home football game against Glenvar, which would have hosting homecoming, begins Friday evening at Salem Civic Center at 7 p.m.
The varsity volleyball senior night postponed from Thursday, Oct. 11, now plays next Wednesday, October 17. Introduction of seniors and their parents precedes the the varsity game that begins at 7 pm.
The fast-moving storm that flooded several roads in Floyd County Thursday moved into the Atlantic Ocean Friday as water receded back within the banks of Little River and other creeks and streams. Some roads remain closed Friday as workers toiled to replace damaged and destroyed culverts.
