The first game for the Floyd County High School Buffaloes brought a win but the team won its second game with a 47-7 domination over the visiting Alleghany Mountaineers on a misty Friday evening that included homecoming and senior night.

The Buffaloes defeated the Alleghany Mountaineers 46-7 at the end of a long season that left FCHS with a 2-8 overall record and 205 for the season.

A penalty-ridden first half cost the Buffalos two touchdowns and the Mountaineers one called back by officials, who also took away two long runs by the Bufs.

Floyd scored first with a six-yard run by senior Brian Hammond Jr., giving the Buffs a 6-0 lead after the after point failed.

Presley Yates, another senior, scored four TDs, including a 93-yard kickoff return, in 293 total yards on 23 carries.

A third senior, Drew Wood, hauled in a 35-yard pass form sophomore Jared Nichols for the sixth TD.  Wyatt Chaffin and Freddy Policarpo added two points each with after TD kicks.
