Floyd County High School’s Buffaloes ran into the Radford Bobcats defensive basketball juggernaut on their court Tuesday while the winter weather storm postponed the Lady Buffs match against Giles in Floyd.
The Floyd team that outscored Fort Chiswell Monday evening managed only six points in each of the first two quarters, two in the third and five in the final for just 19 points while Radford piled up 79 for a lopsided win that takes them into the regional semi-finals in Salem this weekend.
The Buffaloes, who scored multiple three-point goals against Glenvar last week in district play and again against Fort Chiswell on Monday came up with none Tuesday while the Bobcats nailed 15 treys.
No Buffaloes scored in double digits while Radford scored 27 unanswered points in a first half run to lead 47-12 at the break.
The Buffaloes wrap up their season with a 13-13 record but still made the district finals and reached the regional quarterfinals.
