The way March arrives, an old saying goes, determines what happens by the end of the month.
“In like a lamb, out like a lion,” says one cliché. “In like a lion, out like a lamb,” claims the other.
March arrives on this Friday kind of like a lion cub with rain, a high temperature around 40 and an overnight low just above freezing.
Saturday looks a little better with a high of 53 and a low of around 36 with partly cloudy conditions and only a 10 percent chance of rain.
Sunday? Rain again, a high of 42 and the beginning of a week with overnight lows below freezing and highs mostly in the mid 30s but no snow forecast…at least not yet.
Nighttime lows in the upper teens Monday evening into Tuesday and lower teens Tuesday, some rain later in the week but nothing really threatening until Monday, March 11 when we see rain and snow showers for the week with highs back in the upper 50s by week’s end.
Does this mean we’re our of the harsh winter?
Maybe, maybe not.
Weather forecasts, like the weather itself, change.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed…and maybe our toes.
