An old friend from the National Capital Region in Washington, DC, plans to be in our area this weekend and wondered if the visit would “be boring.”
Then we shared a list of events provided each week by The Floyd Tourism.
“Good grief,” she declared. “I thought part of the attraction of an area like Floyd was having little or nothing to do.”
Wrong. Floyd has lots to do and a wide variety of events to appeal to just about everyone.
The Friday Night Jamboree offers old-time music on stage and an open invitation to let your hair down on the dance floor. Want rock? There’s an old fashioned drive in with classic cars and lots of rock music at Wildwood General Store. Browse the artistic offerings at the Artisan Fair on South Locust Street on Friday night and in local galleries.
There’s music on the streets on Friday night and in Lineberry Park on Thursday evening with the Smalltown series.
Lots to do and not always enough time to do it all. Get out and have fun and remember to be careful out there.

1 thought on “Need something to do this weekend?”
Thanks for including our ARRL Summer Field Day! It’s a great opportunity for folks to see amateur radio (ham radio) in action, at Chantilly Farm. I hope you can come and take some photos, Doug! We’ll be located at “the cottage” at Chantilly Farm.
