The windows in my studio in Floyd are covered so I didn’t see the sky darkening outside. But when thunder shook the building, I grabbed my camera and headed outside for a look.
The dark, ominous clouds were a a shade of blue I had not seen here in the mountains, more like something you find on the plains of the midwest. The lightning came fast and furious. I sat the camera on a ledge and opened the shutter. Nature did the rest.
Then the rain hit and I headed back inside for shelter.
