Of course, the members of the Floyd County High School Lady Buffaloes volleyball squad were sad when they left the gym at Radford High School Tuesday night after losing the State Semi-Final game against the Bobcats but they had no reason to be ashamed.
They dominated the first winning match against the defending State Champions of Radford with an opening string of aces by Kenzee Dalton and fought hard in the three tough losses that followed. Either team could have won any of the final three matches.
The Lady Buffs record of 23-5 was an excellent run this year and the team finished just one game away from the state championship match — a first for the volleyballers.
Congratulations ladies. You made us proud. You should be too.
