The new year starts off this week with the quarterly meeting of the Floyd County Circuit Court Grand Jury, which signals the start of a new term for the buy sessions of hearings, plea bargains, and an occasional trial.

High School sports returns home Tuesday with a four-game found of basketball matches featuring the Varisty and JV teams of both the boys’ Buffaloes and the Lady Buffaloes squaring off against James River High-Buchanan. JV matches kick off at 4:30 p.m. in both the old and new gyms at FCHS bore the Lady Buffs varsity game begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the boys at 7:30 p.m. — both on the Alan Cantrell Court in primary gyms.

Let the games begin: See you at the games.
