Floyd County High School football kicks off tonight in Christiansburg as the Buffaloes face the Blue Demons on a field that could be wet from thunderstorms expected for a good part of Friday.

As has been my goal since assigned by The Floyd Press to cover sports in 2004,, I lplan to be on the fields, courts and courses as much as possible for the year, as long as health allows on this 75 year old body.

Coverage of these events is not a job . I am not an employee of They Floyd Press. I have a limited contract with them for overage of Circuit Court but shooting photos and/or videos of sports is a commitment provided, without cost or income, to the schools and the community. The only limitation is health problems that can, and do, slow down an old man.

The goal is to cover home games and, if possible, certain road games, subject to our ability to cover gas and others costs. We are retired and are living on a fixed, limited income. Photos will be provided to the paper, school system, students and parents without cost. Please consider it something I feell I owe to a community that put up with me since returning to Floyd in 2004.

Game photos will be provided to the Press each week and will also be published on their website and Blue Ridge Muse. If you see a photo you want, please let me know and I will provide it as quickly as I can. I can provide them via digital files or in prints.
