We begin 2011 with a lot of hope.

We’ve come off a long, difficult year.  My health, for the first time in years, is an issue but one that I believe will improve as time goes on.

As for Blue Ridge Muse, this will be a year of transition.  We came here in 2004 to relax and unwind down from a career that has been exciting and exhausting.  I promised myself and her that I would learn to take things easier, to get involved in fewer controversies, give something back to the community and to use this web site more for my photography and video work and less for local controversies and causes.

That has not happened.  I never came back here with the idea of creating trouble or becoming a focal point for controversy.  I’m someone who loves Floyd County and wants to see it evolve naturally with genuine planning and not artificially. With luck, it will. We will have some life left in us and reasons to live it.

Time to so so.

Happy New Year. May 2011 be the year that we finally start the enjoy the real reasons we came here.
