An unbeaten state champion

Floyd County's Lorenzo Rios completed a unbeaten senior season in the 119-pound division in high school wrestling, finishing 33-0 with a 6-3 decision over Manassas Park's Steven Hall in the state finals Saturday at Salem Civic Center. Rios brings a state title home with him.

Floyd County’s Lorenzo Rios completed a unbeaten senior season in the 119-pound division in high school wrestling, finishing 33-0 with a 6-3 decision over Manassas Park’s Steven Hall in the state finals Saturday at Salem Civic Center. Rios brings a state title home with him.

"I just tried not to think about the match," Rios said. "The more I thought about it, the more I got nervous. I tried to take him down at the beginning but it was hard. He was pretty good."

Lorenzo is pretty good too, winning more than 100 matches in a stellar career at FCHS.
