A group of us rode our Harleys through the damp and fog of Sunday morning to Lee-Hi Plaza just north of Lexington for the annual Virginia statewide chapter challenge, a gathering of Harley Owners Group (HOG) chapters from throughout the Old Dominion.
The fog finally cleared and the sunny, Springlike weather arrived just in time for a smaller group of us to break off and ride from Lexington to Goshen. The other members headed south and back to Roanoke but I turned the Super Glide north and rode up into the Shenandoah Valley to Harrisonburg before turning back South and hopping over to U.S. 220 and South to Hot Springs.
After a quick lunch at the DeliMart and Subway in downtown Hot Springs, I headed towards Covington, taking time to stop and take in Falling Springs Falls. The falls are much more visible before the leaves return to the surrounding forest.
After a stop for gas in Clifton Forge, continued on to Roanoke and stopped for some carryout sushi before heading home to a hungry wife.
Good weather, good day, great ride.
