Area deaths include nine in Patrick County, two each in Montgomery, Franklin counties and one each in Carroll County and the city of Roanoke.
The Old Dominion reported 451 new hospitalizations with deaths in Carroll, Giles, Pulaski counties and the city of Roanoke.
New deaths reported in Floyd, Giles and Roanoke counties. Hospitalizations increase as well.
Hospitalizations rise sharply in the Commonwealth with 132 in Thursday’s report to a total of 40,203.

An increase of 3,135 in Virginia includes seven new ones in Floyd County, 37 in Montgomery, 34 in Franklin, and more than 200 in Roanoke city/county and Salem.
