Saturday night

Capacity crowd at Oddfellas Cantina in Floyd Saturday night. Part came from the Old Time Fiddler’s Convention in Galax and some from an afternoon event at Chateau Morriisette winery.

Charley Coleman, owner of Presidio Arts in Floyd, dropped by the table to note that "there were a lot of BMWs in town today."

BMWs? Oh oh. Maybe we should do a vehicle brand count on weekends. When the BMWs and Land Rovers outnumber the Subarus and Jeeps it’s time to head for the hills.

Except that we’re already in the hills.

You know you’re in trouble when the doctor ends every sentence with "for your age."

The broken left foot, suffered on the opening day of FloydFest and ignored because I thought I was walking around on a sprain, is taking longer than I would like to heal but the doc says it’s healing on a schedule "that’s expected for someone of your age."

Which means slowly.
