Puppy days of August

The dogs of days of August are returning to the area with heat, humidity and some thunderstorms — at least for a while. Temperatures could reach the low 90s this week in Roanoke and other lower-lying areas. Heat returns after an extended cool period in July that set low-record levels for the month. But wait.
